Planning permission has been lodged for a new boxing club in Athlone. MCG Planning on behalf of Athlone Boxing Club is applying for permission for the facility at Cloghanboy on the Ballymahon Road in the town. The plan includes the construction of an indoor arena, changing facilities and equipment storage area.
Also included in the application is toilets and disabled changing facilities alongside ancillary works and landscaping. Athlone Boxing Club was established in 2006 and caters for ages seven and upwards. County Planners will issue a decision on the plans in the new year.
