Planning sought for extension of footpaths and cycle lanes in Athlone

The Industrial Development Authority has applied for planning permission for an extension of footpaths and cycle lanes at its Garrycastle facility in Athlone.

The IDA says the extension at the Business and Technology Park would allow for future connection to an existing Greenway in the area.

The proposed works would extend through IDA-owned lands towards the Old Rail Trail Greenway to the north of the site.

The development will include the installation of associated signage, public lighting, and all associated services and site works to facilitate the development.

Submissions can be made until the 29th of October and a final decision is due by the 19th of November.
