Plans have been lodged for the change of use of the former Bank of Ireland building in Granard.
Eoin & Natanya McGovern are seeking to turn the now vacant bank into a mixed use development consisting of office space and 7 apartments.
The Bank closed last year following the withdrawal of services in 88 branches nationwide, including Branches in Strokestown and Elphin in Roscommon as well as Drumshambo in Leitrim.
The application now seeks the construction of 2 basement level apartments, 2 studio apartments and office space on ground floor level, a studio apartment and further office space on the first floor and another one bed apartment on the second floor.
Full planning permission is also being sought for the proposed renovations & extensions to two existing outhouses to create a further two studio apartments.
Longford County planners will decide on the application in December.
