Planning sought for Islamic Cultural Centre in Carrick on Shannon

In a cover letter presented as part of the submission, the applicants state it is their hope that the site would help integration, education and inclusively with the wider community.

Planning permission is being sought for the change of use of an office building in Carrick on Shannon into an Islamic Cultural Centre. Carrick On Shannon Islamic Cultural Centre is seeking retention permission for the development at the Hartley Business Park on the Leitrim Road in the town. According to the applicants, they are seeking the permission to support over 100 families living locally who do not have access to a Mosque. It's expected to have a daily attendance of up to 20 people with three to eight cars on site at anyone time.

The application states that the site is served by 15 parking spaces, with further shared parking available. In a cover letter presented as part of the submission, the applicants state it is their hope that the site would help integration, education and inclusively with the wider community. County planners will decide on the application in the new year.
