Planning permission is being sought for the restoration and expansion of the old post office building in Ardagh Village in Longford.
The protected structure was built in 1863 and was a former estate worker's house.
Plans have been submitted by Stephen Keegan for the subdivision of the former post office, the construction of a single story extension and internal rearrangements to form two separate units.
The development also seeks the partial demolition of a shed to provide onsite parking for two spaces, solar panel installation and the replacement of front windows with original lattice iron windows & timber surround.
The listed building requires new connections to water mains and upgrades to the electrical and plumbing infrastructure.
Longford planners are due to decide on the application in June.
