Planning permission has been upheld for the construction of a new 90 bed nursing home and residential development in County Westmeath. Planning permission for the development of the facility off the Castlepollard Road in Mullingar last year, with that approval appealed to the higher planning authority. The plans call for the demolition of a shed on the north of the site, the construction of the 90 bed facility and 81 residential units as well as a coffee shop and ESB substation.
An appeal to An Bord Pleanála stated the proposed application would constitute a substandard form of development at the location. The higher planning authority upheld Westmeath County Council's planning permission with 25 conditions attached.
