E.E.P.V 11 Limited had sought to extend the lifespan of the solar farm at Rathleg in Castlerea from 30 years to 40 years.

Arigna LDES have applied to Roscommon County Council to install 56 battery containers and medium voltage power stations at Tawlaght, Lough Allen.

Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon hold some of the country's lowest figures.

The plans would see three classrooms and ancillary facilities developed on the site.

The development spans almost 10 hectares and is planned for the Petitswood area outside the town.

Also included in the approved plans is an air dome containing three more courts.

The most recent plans include the development of close to 200 new lodges, sauna pods and staff welfare facilities along with a new coffee shop and restaurant at the resort in Longford.

The plans show the turbines as having a hub height of 99 metres and a blade tip height of 180 metres, with the infrastructure scattered across the townlands of Turrock, Gortaphuill,Cronin, Milltown, Feacle and Tawnagh.
