A Roscommon GAA club are replacing a flood light with a telecom mast, following the award of planning permission this week.
Permission has been granted for the construction of the telecom mast at Ballytoohey in Tarmonbarry.
Vantage Towers submitted an application to erect a 24 metre high monopole mast at St Barry's GAA Club outside the Roscommon Village.
The structure would support antennae, dishes and associated telecom equipment, enclosed within security fencing.
The plans call for the removal of an existing 18 metre high floodlight pole and the installation of a high powered light on the telecom structure as a replacement.
The plans were approved with 5 conditions attached, one requiring that the transmission power of the mast remain within the range stated in the original plans.
