An Bord Pleanála have overturned planning permission for a significantly sized wireless data and broadband mast in Roscommon.
The County Council had awarded permission to Hibernian Cellular Networks Limited for the 36 metre mast at Lugboy, Taughmaconnell.
Plans called for the Installation of the lattice support structure carrying telecommunications equipment including antennas, dishes and an associated equipment cabin,
Roscommon County Council originally approved the plans with nine conditions attached, with Cignal Infrastructure Limited then lodging an appeal against that decision.
They claimed that infrastructure currently in the area was sufficient to serve wireless data and broadband demands.
That appeal was upheld by the higher planning authority and the application was overturned.
