Plans have been lodged for 28 houses, a bed and breakfast and glamping accommodation in Co Longford. The council is due to decide next month whether to give the proposals the go-ahead. Roscommon county councillor Tom Crosby is looking for permission to demolish two outbuildings at Cois Abhainn in Cloondara. He then wants to build 28 homes - involving 18 apartments and 10 houses.
Church View B&B, meanwhile, is looking for permission to change the use of a funeral home and offices in Church Street in Longford town. They would be turned into bed and breakfast accommodation, with nine en-suite bedrooms.
There are also plans for glamping accommodation at Longford Country House in Enybegs. This would include 12 self-catering cabins and a visitors' centre, shop and cafe.
