The IDA has received planning permission for the demolition of several structures as part of the clearance of a significant land bank in Athlone.
The 22.7 hectare site at Lissywollen House on the Ballymahon Road was purchased by the group in 2020.
The IDA currently operate a business park on the Dublin road in Athlone, with the Lissywollen site earmarked as a future base for client companies.
The plans call for the demolition of all existing structures on site including a disused nineteenth century farmhouse and a mixture of stone and steel fabricated farm buildings.
Local planners put four planning conditions on their grant of permission, including one ruling that the developer maximise the reuse of surplus material from the demolition on site.
In a statement to Shannonside FM News, The IDA say they plan to have the site ready for marketing to FDI and Enterprise Ireland clients in the near future.
