Plans have been lodged for a major strategic housing development in Westmeath.
Andrews Construction Ltd is seeking the construction of 245 homes on the Dublin Road in Mullingar.
The development would be located at Petitswood in the town, on a site of close to 10 hectares.
The plans comprise of 70 four bed, two storey homes, 132 three bed two storey homes and 8 two bed duplex units.
Also included in the application is the construction of a four-storey apartment block with roof mounted solar panels, holding 14 one bed units, 15 two bed apartments and 6 three bed homes.
The proposed development would also provide a two storey creche, 442 car parking spaces, 550 bicycle spaces and communal open spaces of close to 2 hectares.
Access would be gained via the R392 Dublin Road and the L1133 Ardmore Road.
Planners will decide on the issue in August.
