A Drumlish man is seeking planning permission to open a new Bar and restaurant in the North Longford Village.

Philip Rodgers has lodged a planning application for the conversion and extension of the historic Mill building into a hospitality business.

The former mill building dates back to the 1800s and was powered by an adjacent stream, with a two storey kiln building also located on the site.

Landscaping, the creation of parking spaces and all site works are included in the application.

The plans include an Architectural Heritage Impact Assessment of the protected structure, a Flood Risk Assessment and a report into the history of the mill.

County planners will decide on the application in August.
