Planning permission is being sought for road safety works in south Roscommon.
The works involve the construction of 76 meters of new roadway to form a new junction at Carnagh, Athlone.
It's to improve sight lines and safety at the junction of the L-7610 and L-7550 near Killaghan and Gort townlands.

A total of 120 metres of the current L-7610 and the existing junction between the two roads will be removed as part of the project.
Roscommon County Council submitted the application on July 23rd and a decision is expected to be made by councillors by the 16th of September.
