A local county council has partnered with Coilte to propose a new facilities at an existing recreational site.
Glenfarne Wood Lodge is located in Co. Leitrim and attracts families from across the region to its forest walk trail.
Leitrim County Council and Coilte are now proposing the development of a new playground and a sensory trail to include features, surfaces, objects and plants that stimulate the senses.
The project also includes a redesign of the existing car parking area, as well as a new trail access point and picnic benches.
Additionally, the application comprises of the development of a native tree arboretum where a series of native trees will be planted in sections to represent various parts of the county.
A panoramic platform is also proposed in the submission, from which visitors will be able to view the natural landscape.
