A planning application will be lodged for 51 council homes in Monksland in south Roscommon by September.
According to Roscommon County Council, they will be located in Sli an Choiste and construction is expected to start next year.
Meanwhile, construction is due to start by September on 16 council homes in Curlew View in Boyle.
