Plans unveiled for greenway between Rooskey and Tarmonbarry

Plans are set to be lodged with Roscommon County Council for a five-mile cycle and walkway between Rooskey and Tarmonbarry.

It will be based along disused railway lines, boglands and machine access routes, between the townlands of Meelick and Cloonmore.

Bord na Móna has confirmed it intends to apply for planning permission shortly.

Independent councillor Tom Crosby, from Tarmonbarry, hopes it will link up to other greenways in the region.
