Independent councillor Enda Stenson backed the public realm enhancement project and is playing down the controversy.

New art structures in Mohill are being branded as “gaudy”, “tacky” and a waste of taxpayers’ money.

They feature the town’s name in England and Irish, with four of them erected so far.

They’re part of the public realm enhancement project in Mohill.

Our reporter Eoghan Murphy went in Mohill to hear about the controversy.

He first spoke to former Sinn Fein councillor Seadhna Logan, who told him they’re not fit for purpose.
