A total of 89 members of the Roscommon Solstice Choir performed at the International Famine Walk Commemoration Service in Liverpool on Sunday.
The walk started at Clarence Dock, where 1.3 million Irish emigrants arrived during the famine.
It finished at the Irish Famine Memorial at St Luke’s Bombed-Out Church, with Ireland’s UK ambassador Martin Fraser taking part.
The walkers brought commemorative bronze shoes to the church, where they were greeted by music from the solstice choir.
The music group also visited the grave of Roscommon-born songwriter, author, poet and entertainer Percy French in the graveyard of St Luke’s Church in Formby, around 14 miles from Liverpool city centre.
Our reporter Eoghan Murphy was on the trip and sent us this report.
