Today on Let's Talk, we continued our series of debates with candidates ahead of the general election on November 29th.
We focused on the Sligo-Leitrim constituency, which includes all of Sligo and Leitrim and a population of around 9,400 people in south Donegal, including Ballyshannon and Bundoran.
There are four seats up for grabs in this constituency.
There are 16 declared candidates so far – four in Leitrim and 12 in Sligo.
Today, we hosted a debate with five of them; on Monday we hosted a debate with another five; and a debate with the remaining candidates will be hosted over the next two weeks.
The candidates in today’s debate were: Cllr Michael Clarke, of Independent Ireland; Deputy Frank Feighan, of Fine Gael; Deputy Marian Harkin, an Independent; Chris McManus from Sinn Féin; and Eamon Scanlon, from Fianna Fáil.
