Senator Eugene Murphy says he faces a ‘tough battle’ to retain his seat in the Seanad elections – as he fights to save his political career.
The Roscommon man has been an elected politician for the past 40 years, as a councillor, TD and senator.
He quit Fianna Fáil last November and ran in the general election as an Independent in Roscommon-Galway, but lost out.
