A popular Leitrim sweet shop which closed in the late 1990's will re-open its doors next month.
O'Halloran's on Summerhill in Carrick-on-Shannon was first set up by Bridie Moore in 1932 and was hub in the community.
In recent days Bridie's great-grandson Mark has announced he will now re-open the business along with his wife Jolanta and sister Lauren.
Speaking to Shannonside FM Mark says he's delighted to be the fourth generation to take on the role.
''I always had it in the back of my mind that I would love to see the shop open again so after Covid and everything else the time was right for me to go and jump into this project. Carrick-on-Shannon is a great town so I am looking forward to being able to reopen an old business especially coming into the summer time.''
