A popular Longford filling station has been granted planning permission to install solar panels on the building's roof.
Hanlon's Filling station at leader Park on the Dublin road in town had sought the installation of the renewable infrastructure during the summer.
They are the third well known business in the town seeking to erect the photovoltaic panels in the last three months.
Both Glennon's Saw Mill outside the town and Dunnes Stores on the Dublin Road received planning permission for similar developments recently
The plans had been lodged before new government regulations stating that solar panel installation would not need planning permission, with the details of that legislation yet to be confirmed.
Longford planners greenlit the application with six conditions attached.
