Castlerea councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice is hoping the west Roscommon faults will be fixed in the next couple of days. 

There are 500 homes and businesses still without power, including 97 in Drumshanbo.

There are still significant outages in Roscommon and Leitrim, but almost all are fixed in Longford.

Simon Harris was questioned on the issue by Roscommon-Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice in the Dáil

According to ESB Ireland, while the majority of properties will be restored by the weekend, a number of customers may have to wait until early next week. 

Incidents have taken place in Mullingar and Athlone according to the ESB.

It includes 4,000 in Co Roscommon, 3,500 in Leitrim and 1,000 in Longford. 

Callers will also be able to charge their phones at the restaurant.
