Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Longford Man Jim, described how his wife, who requires oxygen support, felt abandoned as they went without power for two days.

 A significant number of impacted customers will have their power restored by this evening.

According to the ESB, power may not be restored in some cases until late afternoon or early evening.

Ballygar and Ballyforan have all also reported outages affecting over 200 people.

Over 4000 homes lost power after a major outage on Friday evening.

In a statement to Shannonside FM, the ESB say the planned outage in Ballinamore is for essential maintenance.

The power loss was reported at 7.48 am this morning

The town saw significant activity on Friday afternoon after the incident at the busy corner of Main Street.
