A new preferred route corridor for the N61 Ballymurray Knockcroghery bypass has been published.
Following submissions from the public, the design team has widened the corridor south of the existing N61 and Portrunny Road, at Newtown and Cloonconra to provide greater flexibility within the corridor at the next phase.
The team has also taken into account submissions relating to junction locations and to side road alignments.
These will be considered further during the ‘Design and Environmental Evaluation’ phase.
A submission proposing to vary the route further south in Coolaphubble and Cloonconra, was also explored in detail.
This change has been incorporated in a new C-3 route which been selected as the preferred option.
