Sale by private treaty remains the most popular method for selling farms in the Shannonside region.
Figures compiled by the farmers journal show Leitrim had the fewest sales via public auction last year nationally.
The Farmers Journal collected figures on the number of farms sold across the country last year, and the methods by which they were sold.
The trend shows that, across the Shannonside region, private treaty sales remain the favoured method when compared to public auction.
Roscommon had the most amount of farms sold in the region last year at 34, 29 of which were sold privately and the other 5 via public auction
Longford also had a majority of it's 24 farms sold via private treaty at 17, with the rest being sold via public auction.
Leitrim had the lowest amount sold via public auction last year, with 16 of it's 19 farms put up for sale last year selling privately, with the rest split between auction and tender,
Just 6 counties, including Westmeath favoured public auction over private treaty.
Nationally, 870 farms were up on the market last year with 66% of them offered for sale by private treaty.
