Property tax will be unchanged in Co Leitrim next year - but commercial rates may be set to increase. Local councillors can increase or reduce local property tax, by up to 15 per cent, from the basic rate set nationally.
But, despite the local elections taking place in June, there will be no change for Leitrim householders next year. Fine Gael councillor Enda McGloin is a member of the alliance that controls the council.
But commercial rates may be set to change in Leitrim. Next year's rate will be set by councillors at their budget meeting in December, and Councillor McGloin isn't ruling out an increase.
