Restaurant owners say that they have been badly let down by Government.

Postmaster Paddy McCann, from Fairymount, told the crowd some people are even afraid they'll be killed. 

It's after a series of burglaries in the county recently, with shops, farms and small businesses all targeted.

The site has been the scene of a number of protests in recent months.

The protesters say they will protest again tomorrow and on Friday, when the local elections take place.

Around 200 people attended a demonstration in the area on Sunday afternoon, against the state's public realm enhancement scheme.

Residents are concerned the plan will radically reduce the amount of car-parking in the town.
