Up to 100 people are expected to attend a protest in Strokestown at 12 noon today against the 8 million euro public realm enhancement scheme.
Residents and business owners are concerned car parking in the town will be reduced by up to 90 per cent, if the plan isn't changed. The funding was recently allocated to Strokestown to enhance its town centre.
Local Fianna Fáil Senator Eugene Murphy says the state investment is needed, but the plan should be changed.
