Protest in Strokestown this Sunday against public realm works

A protest is taking place in Strokestown on Sunday at 12 noon against the €8 million public realm enhancement scheme. Residents are concerned the plan will radically reduce the amount of car-parking in the town - with up 90 per cent fewer spaces than now.

The protesters say the state investment is needed, but they want it to change. Local community activist Emmett Corcoran says the current plan is very worrying for many people in the town.
