Local farmers have began phase 2 of the IFA's 'Enough is Enough' campaign at Longford County Council today.
Dozens of farmers marched ahead of a column of tractors to the doors of Longford County Council at 3.30 this afternoon.
Met by local representatives, members of the protest addressed the Council Meeting and called for the local authority members to pass a motion of support.
In the resolution, IFA members called for the council to write to the President of the EU Commission, the Taoiseach and the Minister for Agriculture to inform them that the 'Enough is Enough' campaign has the support of local Councillors.
Chair of the meeting, Councillor Paul Ross welcomed the delegation and assured them of the support of the members while confirming the resolution would be debated in an upcoming meeting.
