Management at Mullingar Regional Hospital is advising the public to expect delays at the Emergency Department.
Members of the public are being asked to consider their care options, telephone their GP or pharmacist to seek the best advice, rather than presenting at the hospital.
However, management says that anyone who is seriously injured or ill will be assessed and treated as a priority.

Visitors are asked to only attend the hospital ED if absolutely necessary and to not bring children, if at all possible.
Anyone with any symptoms of Covid 19 are asked to stay at home and contact their GP to arrange a test.
