A public consultation process will begin this week surrounding phase two of the Carrick on Shannon CCTV project.
It's hoped that 10 additional cameras will be installed in various locations, including the new Town Centre Car Park, Marina Walkways, St. George's Terrace and Quayside areas.
Locals say the system which has been operational since 2019 has proven valuable in reducing public order offences.
Submissions on the project are open to the public from this coming Tuesday until December 7th.
Local businessman Joe Dolan says Carrick-on-Shannon is a better place to live, work and enjoy as a result of the project.
