The Council is hoping for significant community feedback and information sessions are being held in Longford town, Ballymahon and Granard this week - beginning in the Longford Arms tomorrow might from 6-8pm.
Director of services with Longford County Council Barbara Heslin explains that the plans contains several strategic high level goals that the Council hope to see achieved in the next six years.
She feels that the public input to the plan is vital to make sure those goals are achievable
"It's really important that our communities, our businesses, our new communities, our young people, our chamber of commerce, Comhairle na nÓg, our PPN, all the different elements of our communities and businesses, it's important to look at what we've set out in our high level goals and to see if they are appropriate. Have we missed anything? Is there anything we need to place more emphasis on, and help us ensure that this is the best possible plan for the county".
