People are encouraged to attend the Suck Valley Way national conference in Roscommon this week.
The event will look at rural tourism opportunities and music therapy for the county.
The two day conference will take place at Gleeson's Restaurant and The Abbey Hotel on Wednesday April 5th and Thursday April 6th .
Speakers include Senator Tom Clonan, Paula Naughten of Join Our Boys and playwright Michael Harding.
Councillor Anthony Waldron hopes the outcomes of the two-day event will have a positive impact on Roscommon.
"Going forward we'll also be presenting a document to Government to see what is in the national interest is that they do more for counties such as Roscommon and indeed the surrounding counties as well and promote it in a way whereby we can attract industry. We'd like to see the IDA promoting Roscommon and the Suck Valley Way. We're not going to give up, we're going to stick at this".
