People in the Termonbarry area are being urged to help return a beloved family pet to it's owners.
Found on the street as a four week old kitten in Poland, Mashcat, now an 11 years old, is missing from the Roscommon Longford border village.
Owner Margaret moved to Ireland with her family and Mashcat just over a month ago, with the loved pet going missing three weeks later.
Mashket, which means 'treat' in Polish, is a long haired brown and black cat with green eyes resembling a Maine coon or Norwegian forest cat.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Margaret says her new neighbours in Termonbarry have been wonderful in helping her search:
'I can't sleep, I can't eat, I keep searching for Mashket everyday with my infant, my son.
I look everyday and every night, especially Saturdays where I walk for 8 miles with my legs in Termonbarry and the area searching for Mashket, calling him.
I talk with my amazing neighbours who give me a lot of support. '
