A Longford woman whose family farm business was hit by raiders last Friday night, say it seems to have been a well-planned operation.
The O' Halleran Free Range egg farm at Kenagh was entered by at least two raiders in the early hours of last Friday morning.
They stayed a couple of hours at the scene before making off with a quad bike and a quantity of power tools.
Rebecca O' Halleran says she had only come home to the house herself late on Friday night, and it was the following morning when the quad bike was discovered missing that they looked at CCTV footage.
She says two young men in hoodies can be seen entering the farm yard shortly after 1 o' clock on Friday night, and they can be seen hiding when her fathers tractor lights appeared a short time after.
The Longford woman says there are a number of CCTV cameras on site but the raiders seemed to know exactly which ones to disable.
They were disturbed, as such y'know, twice, within a few minutes, by passing tractors, and at one point one of our lights pops on, that's over our poultry sheds.
It pops on , kind of pointing directly at them , and they just continue, they run on into the farm , and Dad drove past them , parked at the front of our house and walked in, but they continued on, it was no problem to them.
To be honest, it looked clearly well planned, and we'd be of the opinion they were on the farm before, and sussed out where the CCTV cameras were and which ones they'd need to disconnect.
