The Tralee and Dingle Light Railway carriage was built in 1890 for the opening of the Tralee and Dingle Railway in Co. Kerry.
The restoration is being led by the Cavan and Leitrim Railway Museam in Dromod.
The carriage was in operation until the mid 1950s, and has fallen into a state of disrepair over the years.
The initiative is being funded by the Heritage Council 2023 Community Grant Scheme.
