Roscommon County Council is to advertise the re-opening of the application process for the
Local Improvement Scheme this week.
Through the scheme, local authorities support groups of residents and landowners in the restoration of regional and local roads which serve their properties, where the residents are required to pay a community contribution to the works.
According to Director of Services, Shane Tiernan, the process has been improved and made more efficient.
While applications will be accepted, approval is contingent on funding being provided
from central government which is estimated to be 350,000 euro approximately.
