The cost of rebuilding a house in the north-west has gone up by 26 per cent in the past year.
Although Dublin recorded the lowest increase, at 14 per cent, the capital has the highest rebuild costs.
The national average is a rise of 21 per cent, according to the Society of Chartered Surveyors.
Kevin Brady, from the group, says rebuild costs vary significantly around the country.
For example , in a 3 bed semi-detached in Dublin, a rebuild value would be around €2,735 per square metre ,we're reporting this year, and that ranges then in Cork to €2,337 , and in the north-west for instance €2, 035 per square metre.
