A former Longford Councillor and General election candidate says recent feud violence further damages the town's reputation. Gerry Warnock has been speaking after a man was been seriously injured in an alleged assault in Longford Town this morning. The male in his 20s was airlifted to hospital with his injuries understood to be serious but non life threatening.
The incident took place on the Dublin road close to a local national school in the town just after 9am. Speaking to Let's Talk today, Gerry Warnock said he felt sorry for the genuine people of Longford:
