There's good news on the economy locally this week with a national recruitment company seeing a major increase in job postings for Roscommon over the past year.
FRS Recruitment which has 10 offices nationwide started out from an agricultural co-op in 1980 and now specialises in finding workers for a range of sectors across, IT, manufacturing, and several other specialties.
The company says while there's been a drop in job postings over in a number of counties last year, Roscommon was one of 12 counties that saw an increase in the number of opportunities advertised, as well as a small increase of 5% for Longford.
Leitrim saw a decrease of 33% in job offers, Monaghan was down 13% and Cavan saw a decrease of 16%.
The recruitment company is predicting good growth of up 25% nationally this year despite a slow start due to Covid restrictions.
Colin Donnery, General Manager of FRS Recruitment says Roscommon actually recorded a 115% increase in the number of job postings last year, putting it top of the list nationwide:
