Refugees in Ballaghaderreen are being unfairly blamed for the lack of services in the region according to a local business man and town team member.
Micheal Frain has previously argued that Ballaghaderreen has not received investment owed to it following a major public buy in to the housing of asylum seekers in 2017.
The town and surrounding area host a large number of International Protection applicants at the EROC Centre.
Locals and businesses in the area were originally assured that resources to secure the availability of medical, educational and support services would be made available.
However these resources never materialised in a meaningful way according to locals, leaving long waiting lists when it comes to health care, school places and other necessities.
Speaking to Let's Talk, Micheal Frain Believes that refugees are now being unfairly blamed for a the lack of services locally.
