A regional co-ordinated Garda investigation is reportedly underway, amid a spate of 'ram-raids' of shops across the country.
The Irish Independent reports a crime gang has carried out around eight organised robberies, in Dublin, Westmeath, Wexford, Kildare, Meath, Roscommon and Galway.
The Three shop in Roscommon town was ram-raided in the early hours of Monday of this week with extensive damage caused to the front of the shop and a significant quantity of electronic goods stolen.
The paper reports the group has carried out significant criminal damage, often ramming cars into the front of shops, and taken thousands of euro worth of goods.
