The cost of renting went up by two percent nationally in the first quarter of this year - the largest over a three month period since 2018.

Rent prices across the Shannonside region have risen close to ten percent in the first quarter of 2021 when compared to the same time last year.

A new housing report from property website Daft.ie shows that rent in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon has shown significant increases when compared to the same period in 2020.

A focus on working from home, change in employment status and housing supply has seen a renewed interest in property in rural Ireland.
