A unique programme assisting people who were homeless in Longford to rebuild their lives succeeded in keeping 93% of the people it engaged with from returning to life on the streets.
The Midlands Simon Community has launched a report on its first three years of its Longford 'Housing with Support Service', based at an apartment complex on Earl Street in the town.
It found that of the 14 people referred for help since it was established in 2018; 13 have remained out of homelessness.
The service provides people facing variety of life challenges with their own home, as well as on site support, on site security and trauma informed care.
Mark Cooney, chairman of Midlands Simon is delighted with its success.
