A major convention centre could be developed on the site of Center Parcs' in south Longford.
Reports today suggest the company is considering lodging plans for a major indoor arena at the site of its 400 acre Longford Forest.
The Times Ireland is reporting that the company has started preliminary discussions with Longford County Council and locals about the development of a conference centre, which may also be used as indoor concert space.
Similar conferencing facilities with a capacity for up to 600 people are available at the company's Woburn Forest site in the UK.
The company says it does not respond to speculation but journalist Brian Mahon believes that the company feels Longford is an attractive location for such a facility:
