Reprieve for local Emergency Departments as attendance drops following record highs

Today's INMO Trolley watch figures show just 43 people waiting for beds across the country compared to over 100 patients at the end of June.

Emergency Departments across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region are reporting lower levels of attendance following record patient levels last month.

Today's INMO Trolley watch figures show just 43 people waiting for beds across the country compared to over 100 patients at the end of June.

Sligo University Hospital is the busiest locally today, with 17 people waiting on trolleys or elsewhere in wards.

That's followed by University Hospital Galway, where 12 patients are without a bed and Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, who are dealing with 6 on trolleys today.

Mullingar Hospital has recorded just 2 people waiting in their Emergency Department, while trolley watch has reported no overcrowding this morning at Tullamore, Cavan and Our Ladies Hospital Drogheda.

Nationally, INMO figures show 206 are in emergency departments, while 64 are in wards, with University Hospital Limerick once again the worst affected as 70 people are without a bed.
