A painting by Roscommon artist Roderic O 'Conor sold earlier this month for over €300,000 - several times the value it was bought for less than nine months ago.
It's being reported by the Sunday Times that the painting may have been originally dated incorrectly when went it went up for auction last October for €58,000.
The artwork, called 'Paysage aux arbes' was bought by a London art dealer at a French auction house.
However, just eight months later, the painting was sold for €300,000 at a Dublin based auction house, de Veres.
The fee is the second large sale of a work by the Roscommon-born artist in a matter of months after a painting from the early 20th Century was sold at a price of €200,000 in March .
